EMPLOYMENT
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
EFFECTIVE DATE: APRIL 23, 1996
SECTION IV - NO. 29.00

Purpose

To provide employment experience and financial support in compliance with Federal Work Study regulations.

Applicability

This policy applies to all full time students regardless of financial aid status.

Administration of Student Employment

Student employment comes under the administration of the Financial Aid Office. The Financial Aid Office is responsible for monitoring student employment to insure that Federal regulations are not violated. Therefore, all student employment is authorized and administrated by the Financial Aid Office. Student employment is subject to availability of funds.

Maximum Work Week

The maximum work week for full-time students during the academic school year is twenty (20) hours. Because the University recognizes the importance of devoting quality time to academic pursuits it is recommended that students work no more than twenty (20) hours per week. Special authorization by the Financial Aid Director is required if a student is to exceed twenty (20) hours per week.

During the breaks between academic semesters and during the Summer semester students may work up to forty (40) hours per week.

Records of Appointment

All student employees must have Student Records of Appointment generated by the Financial Aid Office, regardless of employment category or financial aid status.
