EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES

SECTION  IV  -  26.00


Purpose

To define the policies and practices followed by the University in regard to employment activities.

The objectives of establishing the following employment practices are:

1. To comply with the accepted merit principles of civil services systems listed in the INTRODUCTION.

2. To enhance the employment conditions of the University, with the belief that fair and equitable Employment practices lead to greater job satisfaction and productivity.

Employment Objectives

The employment objectives of the University are to recruit personnel who meet high standards of character, education and experience, who have the ability to perform their jobs in a competent manner, have the capacity for growth, and who will find job satisfaction and an opportunity for self-development through their association with the University.

The University realizes that its fundamental strength, its future growth, and the effective achievement of its educational goals depends upon the contribution made by each employee, and that productivity and efficiency result from real job satisfaction, adequate training and individual self-development.

Applicability

These policies apply to all categories of employment and to all applicants, whether internal or external to the University, unless otherwise stated herein.
