ASSIGNMENT:
The successful
candidate will provide supervision to all Upward Bound participants,
approximately eight (8) to ten (10) students. The candidate will
live-in the residence hall; plan and/or supervise extra-curricular
activities; assist students with academic assignments; supervise
students during library and lab studies; monitor visitors’ access to
the residence hall and students whereabouts; clarify and enforce
Upward Bound policies and procedures with special emphasis on
guidelines for student conduct; and perform other clerical duties as
assigned by administrative staff or resident coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS
&
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Should have a minimum 2.50 overall GPA at an accredited
institution; subject area for tutoring must be strong - at least a
B average.

Demonstrate maturity and good leadership, organizational,
communication and social skills;
-
Must commit to being a positive role model and helping students
prepare for college;
-
Must participate in on-site training – week of June 11 (room &
board included);
-
Cannot have alternate employment or attend college courses during
the allotted time for the Upward Bound Summer 2008 Residential
Program.
COMPENSATION:
The salary for this position is $1,785.00 for six weeks.
