JOB TITLE: Resident Coordinator

DEPARTMENT:         Upward Bound

ASSIGNMENT:          The successful candidate will insure the smooth operation of the Upward Bound (UB) Residential Program; serve as liaison between UB and Health Services via the completion of “Sick Reports”; serve as contact person between UB, Student Affairs, and Maintenance Department (Physical Plant); coordinate weekend check-out and field trips for students; meet with Social Committee pertinent the planning of social/recreational programs; be responsible for opening and closing activity centers; live in residence hall; and perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

& REQUIREMENTS:

• A BS degree and experience in Guidance and Counseling, Education or related area;

• Must have the ability to work with students from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds;

• Must have excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal communication skills;

• Must commit to being a positive role model and helping students prepare for college;

• Cannot have alternate employment or attend college courses during the allotted time for the Upward Bound Summer 2008 Residential Program.

 COMPENSATION:    The salary for this position is $2,000.00 for six weeks.
