ASSIGNMENTS:        The successful candidate will assess organizational and operational risk; prepare and conduct a comprehensive internal audit program; prepare working papers in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards; draft reports and make presentations; facilitate discussions with management on corrective action plans, appraise and provide assurance on the operation of internal control; provide assistance to the University’s External Auditor; make cost-effective recommendations regarding improvements in systems, controls, and procedures; and perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:   

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA/CIA;

• At least five (5) years progressive experience in Internal Auditing;

• Strong computer skills and the ability to interact and query relational data base is critical;

• Experience with SCT Sungard Banner is preferred;

• Experience in working with diverse cultures is critical;

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

COMPENSATION:    The salary range for this position is $85,429 to $90,672 for the administrative year, depending upon qualifications and experience. Benefits include a retirement plan and a comprehensive group medical, dental and life insurance program.

TRAVEL AND

SHIPPING:                 If applicable, one-way economy airfare to St. Thomas for the appointee and immediate family, and an agreed upon amount based on policy for shipping allowance will be paid by the University upon presentation of receipts.
