Grounds Keeping Supervisor

DEPARTMENT:         Physical Plant

ASSIGNMENTS:        Under general supervision, the successful candidate will supervise groundskeepers maintaining the University grounds; inspect campus daily; plan landscaping, gardening, and decorative planting and pruning.  Candidate will maintain equipment for major projects; operate trucks, tractors, and other heavy equipment.  Duties also include providing labor crews for maintenance as requisitioned by University departments and performing other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED with five (5) years of Grounds Keeping and Landscaping experience;

• Three (3) years minimum experience in a supervisory capacity;

• Physical fitness;

• Valid USVI driver’s license with the ability to drive both auto and standard vehicle.

COMPENSATION:     The salary range for this position is $12.86 to $18.38 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include the Virgin Islands Government Retirement Plan and a comprehensive group medical, dental, and life insurance program.
