Director of Access and Recruitment – Administrative Staff

JOB TITLE:  Director of Access and Recruitment

JOB CODE NUMBER:  121148

 

DEPARTMENT:            Access and Enrollment Services

 

ASSIGNMENT:             Under general direction of the Vice Provost for Access and Enrollment Services, the successful candidate will develop policy and strategic plans to recruit students, organize and coordinate all campus wide student recruitment efforts in the US Virgin Islands, the wider Caribbean and other areas that reflect the mission and the objectives of the University of the Virgin Islands as outlined in Vision 2012.  More importantly, the candidate will work closely with other directors from the Enrollment Services team to direct the Access and Enrollment Services Plan; coordinate all programs that pertain to international students’ admissions; and will be the lead person on several of the projects to increase our international student population.  The candidate will be responsible for the budget allocated to this unit; develop timelines and plans for reaching our enrollment targets and perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in an academic discipline and a minimum of five (5) years experience in higher education;

  • Record of successful accomplishments in student recruitment activities;

  • Must be detail oriented;

  • Experience in strategies for the use of the internet to support the recruitment process;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse array of personalities, under pressure and deadlines.

  • Knowledge of the Caribbean community and culture is a plus.

  • Availability to travel both on and off island.

 COMPENSATION:      The salary range for this position is $46,408 to $72,539 for the administrative year depending on experiences and qualifications.  Benefits include the liberal TIAA-CREF or the Virgin Islands Government Retirement Plan, and a comprehensive group medical, dental, and life insurance program.

 

TRAVEL AND

SHIPPING:                       If applicable, one-way economy airfare to St. Thomas for appointee and immediate family and an agreed upon amount based on policy for shipping allowance will be paid by the University upon presentation of receipts.
