JOB TITLE:  Custodian III

JOB CODE NUMBER: 220033

 

 

Department:      Physical Plant

 

Assignment:      Under general supervision the successful candidate will perform custodial cleaning assignments and heavy general cleaning; operate buffers, wet/dry vacuum cleaners, lift heavy trash containers, be able to climb ladders and lift 70 lbs. The candidate will maintain simple records and reports; maintain simple inventory of supplies and their costs; shall be required to work on weekdays, weekends, evenings and or holidays; be able to work with minimum supervision and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a 7th grade education and three years of cleaning experience;

  • Ability to read, write, and fill out simple work order forms;

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques;                                           

  • Experience with cleaning equipment and materials;

  • Knowledge of cleaning agents;

  • Must be physically fit;

  • Be able to follow cleaning program and maintain cleaning standards set by supervisor.

  

Compensation:          The salary range for this position is $9.13 to $11.41 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include the Virgin Islands Government Retirement Plan and a comprehensive group medical, dental, and life insurance program.
