The University of the Virgin Islands is a Historically Black publicly supported land-grant institution. The Science and Mathematics Division is seeking candidates who will teach 24 credits in graduate and/or undergraduate levels in the following position:

Assistant or Associate Professor of Natural Resource Management:  Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in a field related to natural resource management, preferably in the Sciences or Social Sciences with applied natural resource management experience.  The successful candidate will participate extensively in the MMES graduate program.  Primary responsibility will be graduate coursework in natural resource management (including course development), mentoring of MMES Masters students.  Additional expectations of all faculty include participation in University committees and continued professional achievement.  Expectations for this position include maintaining an extramurally-funded research program (for more information go to mmes.uvi.edu/employment).

Employment will begin on August 14, 2008.

Rank and compensation will be based on academic preparation, teaching and practical experience. Benefits include a generous TIAA/CREFF or Virgin Islands Government Retirement Plan, as well as a comprehensive group medical and dental insurance plan.
