JOB TITLE:    Administrator I

Department:              Office of the President

 

 

Assignment:                   Under direction, the successful candidate will perform intricate administrative tasks providing support for the Special Assistant to the President and the Chief of Staff’s administration of programs and projects for the Office of the President.  The candidate will provide information, maintain records, and analyze data; follow-up on work-in-progress assignments, ensuring timely processing and completion; keep executives informed pertinent to relevant issues and events that may affect the Office of the President; coordinate activities for the Leap Frog project; schedule facilities and events; monitor timetables of regularly scheduled administrative activities; draft correspondences and reports; and perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:          

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences or related fields and three  (3) years of University administrative experience;

  • Expertise in business administration, higher education, and budgeting mandatory;

  • Knowledge and experience in university activities, organizations, policy and procedures preferred;

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills essential;

  • Proficiency in the operation of microcomputer, user friendly software including Microsoft applications, desk top publishing, Banner 2000, and office equipment necessary;

  • Ability to work in a high stress environment while effectively prioritizing and meeting strict deadlines crucial.

 

Compensation:          The salary for this position is $45,037 to $58,008 for the administrative year depending on experiences and qualifications. Benefits include the liberal TIAA-CREF or the Virgin Islands Government Retirement Plan, and a comprehensive group medical, dental, and life insurance program.

 

Travel and

Shipping:                   If applicable, economy jet fare to St. Thomas for appointee and immediate family and shipping allowance of up to $1,250 will be paid by the University upon presentation of receipts.
