ASSIGNMENT:
The
successful candidate will perform a broad range of
administrative tasks for the efficient operation of the
Research Center Office and support the Research Director in
meeting deadlines and developing community partnerships;
review grant documents to identify and establish necessary
work plans and assistance required to support core activities;
take lead in arranging conferences, institutes, seminars and
meetings. The candidate will also direct development and
administration of operational and office policies and
procedures relating to budget, purchasing, and personnel;
oversee development and maintenance of Website; develop annual
and other reports required for the grant based on submitted
core materials; maintains calendar of events and
administrative deadlines for the Research Center and performs
other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s
Degree in Business or related field preferred and two years of
supervisory experience.

Bachelor’s
Degree in Business Administration or related field, two years
of supervisory experience and five years of experience in
program support and/or business administration.

Considerable knowledge of business administration and office
management.

Considerable knowledge of budgeting and purchasing processes.

Substantial skill in operating office equipment such as a
computer (using ordinary office applications such as Microsoft
Word, Publisher, Excel, Power Point, and other user-friendly
software), printer, copier, scanner and calculator.

Ability
to: solve complex problems; analyze data; read and understand
legal or government regulations; speak clearly and audibly;
and organize work efficiently.
COMPENSATION:
The salary
range for this position is $30,587 to $44,381 for the
administrative year depending on experience and
qualifications. Benefits include the liberal TIAA-CREF or the
Virgin Islands Government Retirement Plan, and a comprehensive
group medical, dental, and life insurance program.
TRAVEL
AND
SHIPPING:
If
applicable, economy airfare to St. Thomas for appointee and
immediate family and shipping allowance of up to $1,250 will
be paid by the University upon presentation of receipts.
